Author Visits with
Ann Louise Ramsey and Honey
My author/illustrator visits begin with Power Point presentations of my children's picture books, Me, the Tree and Just Be You, set to music (which works great for all group sizes), followed with demonstrations of how I illustrate with photography and created the illustrations for my books in Photoshop, along with discussions on writing poetry and the self-publishing process.
An added delight for the kids is Honey, my Cocker Spaniel and the star of my book
Just Be You,
who accompanies me to school and library visits. Honey models her duck robe worn in
Just Be You
and steals the show every time!
Talks are modified accordingly for K-6th grades.
Presentations take about 45-50 minutes for 3-6 grades and 20-25 minutes for K-2 grades. This includes Q&A and time to pet Honey!
Discounts available for schools ordering and pre-paying for books ahead of the event.
Fees: $100/hour plus mileage and lodging (if needed).
I will do single sessions close to home (less than 50 miles away), but otherwise a minimum of 2 hours/day plus mileage and lodging (if needed) for out-of-town sessions.
If your budget is tight, consider sharing me with other schools and libraries in your area. If I visit two schools, you can divide everything in half. Four schools, divide everything by four.

In this day and age, I feel it's especially important for children to develop healthy self-esteem by loving and honoring themselves for the unique individuals that they are, so I'm happy to do whatever I can to make a school visit possible.
